DESIGN AND DECOR IN CASCO ANTIGUO
| June 11, 2008 | to | July 13, 2008 |
Panamanian and international interior design and architecture talent are putting their final touches on the former Colegio Javier in Casco Antiguo, which they have restored for the Second Annual Exhibition of Interior Designers, Casa Cor Panama 2008. The former high school, next to the San Francisco de Asis Church, was built in 1920. When Casa Cor has completed its mission and restored the building to its original beauty and beyond, the former school will take on a new use as the office of the Chancellor of Panama.
Once work is completed, the building will be open to the public from June 11 to July 13 this year. Visitors can take a look at the work done by different interior designers, who have each been assigned a space or a room in the old Colegio Javier to transform. While at Casa Cor, visitors can enjoy food from Segundo Muelle, a Peruvian restaurant, Segafredo Cafe’s coffee and desserts, a wine tasting in the cellar as well as ice cream from Heladeria La Italiana.
The event takes on a dual purpose. Beyond the restoration of invaluable national architecture, Casa Cor benefits the Amaneceres (Sunrises) Foundation which is a preventative center for young adolescents at risk.
